Congrats to Latte da Dairy, Eagle Mountain Farmhouse Cheese and Brazos Valley Chees

Over the past two years the Clark Gardens Spring Festival festival attendees have had the opportunity to sample and purchase fresh artisanal cheeses from Texas cheese companies.  Not only do we think they are the best, three of the cheese makers just won awards at the American Cheese Society  Annual Conference.  According to the American Cheese Society's website  "The 2011 Judging & Competition saw a record number of entries: 1,676 cheeses and cultured milk products from 258 different companies in the United States, Canada, and Mexico."

And of those 258 companies three have attended our Clark Garden Spring Festival.  A big congratulations goes out to Brazos Valley Cheese for receiving a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place award; a 1st place award went to Eagle Mountain Farmhouse Cheese Co; and Latte da Dairy won a 2nd place award for their goat cheese truffles.

All three of these cheese makers have attended our Spring Festival and we hope to see them back in 2012.  Congratulations Brazos Valley Cheese, Eagle Mountain Farmhouse Cheese Co and Latte da Dairy!!  And thanks to our friends at Antonelli's Cheese in Hyde Park, Austin, TX for keeping us updated on the awards.

Is it Spring Festival time yet?  Hmmm...Wine, Cheese and Flowers (and maybe some rain between now and then)

I have been with the gardens as an employee for three years, first serving as Marketing Director and now as Director. But...I have been with the gardens since their inception...I am the daughter of Max and Billie Clark, the founders of Clark Gardens. I have been married 33 years to my sweet husband Mark who supports me in this "adventure". He lives and works in Bryan/College Station and drives many weekends to visit me in Mineral Wells.
We have three fantastic children--Clark and his wife Jessica who live in Atlanta and is a professional equestrian three day event rider, Travis and his fiance Audrey who will be moving to San Angelo to open a Chicken Express and Molly, our youngest who lives in NYC and is an actor. We are very blessed.
